It is a single outpatient injection, about thirty minutes under local anaesthetic, carried out in central London at London Cartilage Clinic, with most people treated the same day as the consultation once their imaging has been reviewed. If you have had an MRI in the last six months, bring it; if not, book your MRI and consultation together.
What to expect
NanoACi is one outpatient injection under local anaesthetic, start to finish in around thirty minutes. There is no general anaesthetic, no incision and no theatre stay.
You are seen and treated as an outpatient in central London, and most people return to light daily activity the same day. No overnight stay is needed.
Once your imaging has been reviewed, treatment can usually be carried out on the same day as your consultation, so a suitable joint is treated in a single visit.
NanoACi is Professor Paul Lee’s injection protocol, and he performs it himself at London Cartilage Clinic. He devised the way the three components, your own cartilage cells prepared with the Mytocel MSK technique, a ChondroFiller scaffold and PRF, are delivered together in one session, and he is among the first in the United Kingdom to offer it.
NanoACi is a technique Professor Lee performs, not a product or a device you are being sold. Whether it suits your joint is decided by him on examination and imaging, and he will set out the honest options for you. There is no age limit, and being told you are bone-on-bone does not rule it out.
A recent scan makes your visit far more useful. If you have had an MRI in the last six months, bring it to your consultation with Professor Lee. If not, the simplest step is to book your MRI and consultation together, so your imaging is reviewed and, for most people, a suitable joint is treated in the same visit.
Booking both together is the all-inclusive pathway, £8,500, which covers your MRI, your consultation, the NanoACi session and one follow-up. NanoACi on its own is £8,000. These prices are provisional and confirmed after assessment. Consultations and treatment take place in central London, at London Cartilage Clinic.
